Fun Run Done

The photos have been posted on this site for a while now, but in case you couldn't tell, the 2007 edition of the MCCC Fun Run was a solid success with plenty of good vibes and good eats to go around.

The Fun Run is typically a smallish event, but the payback is that we get some quality social time, and some good food with an opportunity for seconds (or even thirds) combined with the knowledge that the event will produce a noticeable donation to the beneficiary of our choice (This year the recipient is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital). Almost 50 cars participated in the Poker Run to Buckhead Creek Park, and we enjoyed some of the most perfect weather conditions that anyone could ever hope for.

We meet several new friends this year and everyone seemed to be appreciative of the relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to drive our vehicles on such a fine afternoon. Low stress is a good thing and the usual angst over show trophies is thankfully missing from the Fun Run. Almost everyone has a shot at some sort of a door prize, and I didn't detect any real disappointments among any of the participants. We seem to have hit the ideal timeframe with a mid October date, and Sunday afternoon is apparently working well with very few conflicts reported.

I suggest that my fellow MCCC members give themselves a collective pat on the back to acknowledge a job well done. Make plans to attend the Fun Run next year and see why we call it fun!
