Bunny Run

I hopped on over to Jackson TN yesterday
and took in a good part of this year's
Bunny Run. Despite ridiculous gas prices,
and temperatures that were falling about
five degrees per hour, the turnout was
strong with good variety. Several of our
own were in attendance, as were a large
contingent from across several states. The
weather started out nice, but got
progressively colder as the day continued.
A few extra shirts and a hoodie and all was
well... at least it wasn't wet.
The variety of cars in attendance was
astounding. Mostly of the street rod
variety, but numerous tri-five chevys, and
noteworthy muscle cars also made the scene.
I had the pleasure of meeting several
people from the area who keep this whole
automotive hobby interesting, and made
quite a few photos of what was on hand. My
biggest miss of the day was not getting a
shot of Kirby Kennedy's Selmer TN based
Y-block powered Model A that graced the
pages of The Rodder's Journal # 37. I was
pretty well stunned to see the dove gray
coupe as it drove past me out of the
fairgrounds. I'll have to seek this one out
in the future, as it is extremely slick in
a traditional homebuilt way, and it's not
even a Chevy! The photos speak louder than
my words can so have a look at what was on
hand in the
photo gallery section.
Of course, it could get overwhelming at
times, so a midday nap in the full sun
could be just the ticket when the action
was too hot to handle! Although just a tad
chilly on Saturday and downright cold on
Sunday (even though the weather was perfect
on Friday) this event makes it clear that
the 2008 car show and rod run season is now
under way. Next up... Super Chevy!
