In an effort to expand contest participation during our May meeting, we are adding a new do-it-yourself activity to the 2nd annual model car contest. Sort of a contest within a contest so to speak.

So if you hunger to participate, but are not comfortable with constructing small automobiles, then this should be a sweet deal. We cooked this up during the April meeting and added it to the menu for May. So consider preparing a dessert for the club. That's right, bake something good to eat! We will judge a bake-off for those members that are more comfortable in the kitchen than with a rattle can and a tube of glue. Sounds like a tasty idea to me. Even car people who eat, sleep, and breath all things Chevrolet need a treat now and then, and the folks at Coletta's have promised not to toss us out into the parking lot for bringing dessert items in for this special occasion.

Be advised that this is not simply another powder puff derby. The ladies may well prefer to showcase their culinary skills, but this competition is also open to any member who is inclined to eat, including the boys. In a reciprocal move, it is fully expected that our female members will give serious thought to cobbling together a scale automotive creation. So get busy, it's only a month away. Show us what you're made of!
