Well, the
weather was iffy with rain all around us,
but we managed to sneak around the wet
stuff and pull off another successful car
& bike show at the annual Bartlett
Festival on Saturday September 26th. Here,
MCCC member Cindy Hubbard parks her sano
1967 Camaro SS 350 under the shade of a
tree in Freeman Park.
Randy Beckworth
drove his six cylinder powered baby blue 54
Chevy in from Selmer TN through a bonafide
monsoon. After some spit and polish, the
slick stovebolt garnered lots of attention.
Also driving
through the storm from Selmer was Randy
Glover with this very choice 1936 Ford
pick-up truck. It featured lots of street
rod niceties, and was another head-turner
that was admired by many after a bath to
wash away the weather.
This bad to the
bone 69 Camaro has been making the car show
rounds this year. It's been around as a
strip/strip style car for many years, but
has been recently redone, and now looks
better... and meaner than ever.
A surprisingly
large turnout of Scions made the show, and
exhibited some pretty innovative and eye
catching customizing as applied to the boxy
econo cars. One even sported an olive drab
primer coat which turned it into a rolling
chalkboard. The kids got a big kick out of
writing and drawing on it's flanks.
MCCC members Gene & Kaye Whitehead
arrived in their stylish 1959 Chevy Impala.
The Whitehead's Impala is featured with a
"cat's eye" view on the upcoming dash
plaque for the 6th Annual Fall Festival at
the Tennessee Baptist Children's
Home.
Ron Hodnett's
Uncle brought out this super slick 48 Ford
coupe. The vintage Ford features a late
model Mustang 5.0 drive train.
The next show
on our agenda is the 6th Annual Fall Festival at
the Tennessee Baptist Children's
Home. Click the link to
read the show flyer. This is also the
last show of the year for the MCCC so
don't miss out. Once again, there will
be plenty of classes for most anything
on wheels. Please join us on the grounds
of the Children's Home on Saturday,
October 17th. We'll have lots of choice
cars and motorcycles on hand, and we
will give away our small block Chevy
engine at this show. See you there!
